Growing Up

April 6, 2013 — 2 Comments

Saw this quote on Pinterest today. I have to say that, sharing this experience with Mtuseni, the words apply to both of us. It is so impressive and gratifying to see him mature and come into his own. And parenting Mtuseni has made me grow in ways that are still unfolding… and will change my life far into the future.

Oh… and Mtuseni did get elected vice-president of the student committee at Boston Media House the other day. That’s a far cry from eating lunch alone every day of his first semester, a time Mtuseni called “the darkest days of life” (which still gets me choked up every time I think about it). Could this long-distance dad be any more proud?

With a dad like you, how could he fail?

Seriously though, congratulations to both of you. You’ve both worked so hard.
